Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
Yes! I am in network with and accept Premera, Lifewise, and most Blue Cross insurance plans.
For all other insurance plans, I offer out-of-network services. If your insurance plan offers out-of-network benefits, I am happy to provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. To verify if you have out-of-network benefits, please contact your insurance company directly or check via the following link: https://calculator.meetnirvana.com/
What is your fee for self-pay sessions?
I charge $160 per session. Payment will be collected at the time of service.
I also offer a limited number of sliding scale/reduced fee appointment slots. Please contact me via the contact button at the bottom of this page for more information.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept all major credit and debit cards (i.e., Discover, American Express, Visa, Mastercard, etc.), HSA cards, and FSA cards.
How long is a session and how often will I meet with you?
I schedule appointments for 53-minutes. I offer both weekly and biweekly/every other week appointment slots for new clients. During our consultation call, we can discuss which option may be the best fit for your goals. Once you are an established client, I offer monthly maintenance sessions as well.
Do you provide in-person or online/virtual therapy?
All therapy sessions are conducted via a secure HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform (similar to Zoom). I do not offer any in-person therapy appointments at this time.
When do you schedule sessions?
I offer sessions Monday through Thursday between 10am and 5pm.
Why do you primarily use Inference-based CBT (I-CBT) for treating OCD and related disorders? Why do you not offer Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP)?
Research suggests that I-CBT and ERP lead to similar clinical outcomes in that both lead to a significant decrease in OCD symptoms. Research also suggests that, due to differences in sensory processing, exposure therapy is not as effective for autistic individuals as compared to neurotypical individuals. As such, I believe I-CBT is a more effective and less stress-inducing treatment option when working with neurodivergent individuals.
I-CBT focuses on the core of OCD symptoms, which I-CBT conceptualizes as “inferential confusion”, and applies to all OCD symptoms and subtypes. On the other hand, ERP focuses on reducing anxiety associated with specific obsessions and triggers. As such, I have found I-CBT to be more generalizable due to not having to treat every specific obsession. This also means a reduction of OCD symptoms can also typically be achieved in less sessions when using I-CBT as compared to ERP.

What is your cancellation policy?
I have a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please let me know at least 48 hours in advance when possible. The fee for a first time late cancellation/missed appointment is a reduced fee of $50. The fee for all future late cancellations/missed appointments is the full fee. It’s important that we meet consistently in order to make progress.
Do you offer complimentary consultation calls?
