    Individual Therapy

With all of my clients, I utilize a strengths-based and person-centered approach. I take into consideration your past experiences, background, cultural identity, values, and life circumstance in order to provide a treatment approach catered specifically to you and your needs. I believe you are the expert on your life, and that we can work as a team to help you set and reach goals, all while overcoming any barriers that exist in your life.

Therapy for OCD: I utilize Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT) in my treatmend of OCD. For more information about what I-CBT and how it works, check out https://icbt.online/what-is-icbt/

Therapy for PTSD and trauma: I utilize Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) in my treatment of trauma.

All other Individual Therapy: I take a holistic approach in my therapeutic practice. I pull from modalities such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Structured Problem Solving, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

    Supplemental Family Therapy

I have a background in child and family therapy. While I do not offer family therapy as a single treatment, I find it extremely valuable to incorporate family into therapy when possible.

In the state of Washington, teens ages 13 and older have autonomy in their mental health treatment. If you do not want to involve family in therapy, you are not required to.

However, I have found treatment can be more successful and long-lasting when loved ones can be aware of your needs, goals, values, and preferences in therapy and are able to empathetically support you in reaching your goals.

    Assessment

General Assessment: Our first 1-2 sessions together will be devoted to completing a Biopsychosocial Assessment. This includes getting to learn your background, your strengths, and who you are as a person. This also involves collecting as much information as possible to identify any psychological symptoms and/or diagnoses that may be making it difficult to reach your goals at present.

Note: Insurance is only able to cover and/or reimburse our sessions if the criteria for a diagnosis is met.
